To think some people disagree with a little healthy competition…
Credit: America Needs Cheerleaders
The best memories of my childhood include competitive sports, competitive cheerleading to be exact. There were tryouts, some made the team, some did not. Things were just a little bit different as not everyone was guaranteed a spot on the team nor a trophy at each and every competition. But we l
earned valuable life lessons and we were happy regardless of the outcome as we were taught that hard work pays off and if you want something you have to sweat (sometimes a little more than others and some people a little more than others) to get it. We were taught about team work, hard work, commitment, encouragement, disappointment, passion, confidence, loyalty, friendship, and well the list could go on and on.
MORE Warm Up Exercises to Add to Your Strength Training Workout
Although sometimes a bore, warming up prior to any and all workouts is incredibly important. Below are 3 exercises that can be added to your pre-workout routine.
(Side note: these feel great after a hard workout as well.)
#1 Sumo Squat
Reach up with both arms. Legs shoulder width apart. Reach for your toes. While holding onto toes, bend knees and sit back. Reverse the movements so that you finish in a standing up position. This will help warm up your legs and open your hips.
